Sony sets date for PS4 release

Sony’s PS4 release date has finally been announced at Gamescom 2013. Long live play indeed!
The PS4 release date is the 15 of November in North America, and 29 of November in Europe.
This date coincides with where many suspected it would land. With the holiday rush in full swing at that time of the year, it was a no-brainer for Sony to release their fourth generation proper console then.
Before today’s official announcement of the PS4 release date, it was confirmed by Sony that the PlayStation 4 would come out “Holiday 2013.”
The PS4 was first unveiled during Sony’s E3 2013 press conference. The console has an italicized equals sign look, and will retail for £349 / €399 / $399.

One of the largest draws to the PS4 over Microsoft’s Xbox One was that the PS4 will not require an Internet connection, and used games will not be blocked. However, Microsoft has gone on to repeal many of their unpopular Xbox One features, per popular demand.
Preorders for both the PS4 and Xbox One have been performing exceptionally well. Many retailers, such as GameSpot and Amazon, are no longer taking further pre-orders for the next generation consoles.
Fans of Sony hope to see sequels of series such as Uncharted 4 and PlayStaion All-Stars.
