Actress is HIV positive, porn production suspended

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- A porn industry trade group Saturday called for a moratorium on production after a Los Angeles actress tested positive for HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. The actress, who goes professionally by Cameron Bay, tested positive this week, the Los Angeles Times reported. The trade group Free Speech Coalition said it was working with a doctor affiliated with Adult Production Health and Safety Services, an agency operated by the coalition to monitor and treat sexually transmitted diseases. Coalition head Diane Duke said other performers who might have been exposed to the virus will be contacted and production will be suspended until performers who had sexual contact with Bay are tested and given medical clearance, the Times reported Saturday. "Because of the rigorous APHSS protocols, the situation was accessed quickly and -- most importantly -- action was taken to ensure the protocols were followed," Duke said. She said there was n

Uncertainties as Gov Suntai arrives in Abuja; driven to Taraba

Taraba State Governor Danbaba Fulani Suntai has finally arrived Nigeria  after spending almost  ten months in German and American hospitals where he was being treated for injuries sustained in a aircraft crash last year.   Exactly 2.18pm today, the governor arrived at the Namadi Azikwe International Airport Abuja.   The governor, who arrived aboard a chattered flight, was received by several top officials of the Taraba State government.   However, contrary to the expectation that the governor would proceed to the Presidential Villa in Abuja for a rousing welcome reception from President Goodluck Jonathan, he headed straight to Jalingo, Taraba State Capital, after spending 25 minutes acknowledging cheers from well-wishers at the airport.   Prior to his arrival, there have been mixed speculations about the state of health of Suntai. While many speculated that the governor situation was critical, PDP leadership held a contary view.   It would be recalled that Suntai was invol

Dillish is the Winner of Big brother Africa 2013

Image
After expressing her desires to be the first woman to win the Big Brother grand prize since Zambia's Cherise did so seven seasons ago, Dillish has done it for all of Africa's women! The gorgeous Namibian started her Chase race as the proverbial underdog and was labeled everything from lazy to a pampered princess. As the Chase rolled on however, Dillish quickly emerged as a very strong contender for the Chase title and won her fellow Housemates and Africa over, with her quirky, accented alter ego, aptly titled Princess Dillish. The Namibian made sure to stay away from trouble and coasted through the Chase by taking her place behind the scenes. While her fellow Housemates got themselves into hot water, fighting and gossiping their way to what they hoped was the top of the mountain, Dillish remained grounded and maintained cordial relations with her fellow Housemates. The only time the Namibian got herself in a spot of trouble was when she and her good friend,

INSIDE THE MIDDLE EAST:Syria warns US against military action

Image
The Syrian government has warned the US not to launch any military action against the country over an alleged chemical-weapons attack earlier in the week, saying that such a move would set the Middle East ablaze. Saturday’s statement by Omran al-Zoubi, Syria's information minister, came on the same day that US President Barack Obama held a meeting with his top military and national security advisers to explore options to resolve the Syrian crisis. Thousands of people suffered neurotoxic symptoms and 355 of them died following Wednesday’s alleged chemical-weapons attack in Damascus, aid group Medecins Sans Frontieres said on Saturday. The development has put on pressure the US to look into various options on Syria as Obama defined the use of chemical weapons as his “red line” in the crisis. World powers have repeatedly urged Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to allow UN chemical weapons inspectors to examine the sites where chemical weapons were allegedly used.

Tyson says he hopes to stay sober

Image
Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson said in Los Angeles he is struggling to stay away from drugs and alcohol. At a news conference to promote ESPN's "Friday Night Fights," Tyson said he has been lying about his sobriety, the Los Angeles Times reported. "I haven't drink or took drugs for six days, and for me, that's a miracle," Tyson, who seemed close to weeping, told reporters Friday. "I've been lying to everybody else that think I was sober, but I'm not. This is my sixth day. I'm never gonna use again." Tyson said he was trying to make amends to trainer Teddy Atlas. Atlas was dismissed in the early 1980s as an assistant to Cus D'Amato, the trainer who discovered and adopted Tyson. Atlas' Wikipedia entry says Atlas, not yet 20 himself, discovered the 16-year-old Tyson had misbehaved sexually with an 11-year-old girl, a relative of Atlas. Tyson said he wants to turn his life around. "I did a

Racism: Malawi Coach To Report Stephen Keshi To FIFA

Image
Malawi coach Tom Saintfiet is to report coach Stephen Keshi to FIFA after the Nigeria coach reportedly called him “a white dude who should go back to Belgium.” Both coaches have been arguing since Malawi asked FIFA to move next month’s crucial World Cup qualifier from Calabar for safety reasons. Saintfiet told BBC Sport, “It is unacceptable that any person says these words – it is clear racism. “It is 100% sure that my lawyers will lodge a complaint with FIFA.” The row erupted earlier this month when the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) wrote to FIFA, seeking a new venue for their 7 September, 2013 Group F qualifier away to the Super Eagles – a match which Malawi, who trail Nigeria by two points, must win to progress to the play-offs. Belgian Saintfiet told local media at the time that he was concerned about security because he claims “the UK’s Foreign & Commonwealth Office says it is a no- travel area .” Keshi hit back shortly afterwards, saying “this is whe
