Mimiko Debunks Deputy’s Purported Impeachment

The Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko has debunked reports made public by some sections of the media that his deputy, Alhaji Ali Olanusi was about to be impeached.
Mimiko, who gave the clarification while speaking with journalists in his office stated that there was no iota of truth in the report that the State House of Assembly was about to impeach the deputy governor on account of ill health.
Mimiko explained that he was disturbed, when some of his friends in the diaspora called him that they heard the news on the British Broadcasting Corporation, (BBC).
In his words: “As I am talking to you now, Alhaji Ali Olanusi remains the deputy governor of Ondo state and there is no plan to impeach him”.
Also commenting on the development, the Chairman of the State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Honourable Oyebo Aladetan said the report must have originated from the imagination of its source because there was no time such motion was discussed at the House before it went on recess over two weeks ago.
